Our Goal
The goal of the Association is to teach young people the game of football in a way that glorifies God and so that those young people carry themselves in a way that leads others to Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop Christian young athletes who have a strong passion for football, especially South Christian football. We are committed to providing a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment where athletes can learn the skills and concepts needed to succeed on the field, while also building character and values that lead to success in life.

About the Program
Sailor Youth Football is a competitive youth football program serving players in grades 3rd through 8th in the Byron Center, Michigan area. We are part of the South Christian community and are committed to developing young athletes through the sport of football.
Our program emphasizes player safety, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun. We follow USA Football's Heads Up Football guidelines to ensure every player learns proper technique and stays safe on the field.
Grade Levels
3rd & 4th Grade
Introduction to competitive football with fundamentals focus.
5th & 6th Grade
Building on fundamentals with more complex schemes.
7th Grade
Advanced competition preparing players for high school.
8th Grade
Top-level youth competition in the Byron Center area.
Registration Fees
Multi-child discounts are available for families with two or more players. Fees do not include uniforms or player-supplied equipment — see the breakdown below.
Registration for the 2026 season has closed. Check back in spring 2027 for next season's registration.
What's Included vs. Additional Costs
Registration fees cover league fees, field costs, and program operations. Uniform purchases and player-supplied equipment are separate costs not included in the registration fee.
- League fees and field costs
- Game jersey — 7th & 8th grade only
- Game jersey — 3rd–6th grade (see uniform fees below)
- Game pants — all grades (see uniform fees below)
- Practice pants — all grades (see uniform fees below)
- Football cleats (molded or detachable — no metal spikes)
- Practice Jersey
- Mouthguard (required)
The following items must be purchased separately. Uniform items are ordered through the program. Player equipment is purchased independently.

Uniform items are ordered through the program at the prices listed below. Items marked 'may reuse' can be carried over from a prior season if they still fit. Game jerseys for 7th & 8th grade players are provided as part of registration — those players only need to purchase pants.

If you're looking to unload any equipment, consider listing it on our youth football site so other families can purchase.
Season Overview
The football season typically runs from late July through October. This includes:
- Summer conditioning and practice (late July)
- Full-pad practices begin in August
- Regular season games (August–October)
Game schedules and season details vary by grade division. Please refer to your team's schedule and coach communications for current information.
